About This Is Why I'm Sober

"This is Why I'm Sober" was inadvertently born in 2025 when Abi and Chris worked together. Their passion for sobriety connected them, and their shared experiences helped create a bond. Abi and Chris would tell their tales of addiction and recovery with each other and, discovering they shared a passion to spread the idea of hope and resilience, decided one day that maybe people could benefit from our stories. From hat conversation, a spark was ignited, and "This is Why I'm Sober" grew from the light it cast. They began formulating an idea for podcast, a website, an online store, and a purpose for their pasts....and now here they are.

Abi Rose lives in Cortez, Colorado-she is a musician, life-coach, peer support coach, public speaker and published author.

Having lived experience with being held captive by the grip of addiction for far too many years, she is passionate about sharing her journey and extending a light to those needing hope and to see that beating the odds of addiction, and making it out the other side is absolutely doable.

Abi Rose is passionate about spreading the word on how it is never too late to start over and rebuild a better life than ever before imagined. Her goal is to continue spreading light and hope, soften the stigma around recovery, and help those in need of some extra guidance and support through their own addiction-trenches. 

Chris lives in Cortez, CO and works as an addiction counselor. His passion for recovery is rooted in his own struggle with alcoholism. His lived experience allows him to understand the devastating and dehumanizing power of addiction, as well as the incredible sense of freedom and peace that accompanies sobriety. He is dedicated to ending the stigma surrounding both addiction and sobriety, and is passionate about changing the culture of what it means to be in recovery. His goal is to make a difference in the lives of those who struggle with substance abuse, and the communities ravaged by it.
